The dream of Blue Cielo began more than 15 years ago on our family property in Commerce, Georgia. Although Commerce is where the vision first took root, our Lake Russell property in Elberton was the first location we opened to the public.
Blue Cielo Vineyards & Winery is a woman-owned, family-operated boutique winery founded by Cassandra Wiseman. From the beginning, our goal has been to create a welcoming place where people can enjoy approachable wines, genuine hospitality and time together.
Today, Blue Cielo is entering an exciting new chapter with two beautiful destinations.
Blue Cielo Vineyards & Winery in Commerce brings our story back to where the original dream began. It will be the new home of our tasting-room experience, offering Blue Cielo wines and food, special events and opportunities to relax and stay awhile.
Blue Cielo at Lake Russell was the first Blue Cielo location to welcome guests and will always be an important part of our story. The property is now transitioning into a dedicated wedding and events venue, providing a beautiful setting for weddings, celebrations and meaningful gatherings. Overnight accommodations will be available for weddings in 2027 which will include three guest bedrooms located on the property.
At Blue Cielo, we believe wine should feel approachable, hospitality should feel genuine and everyone should feel welcome. Whether visiting for a glass of wine, planning a weekend getaway or celebrating one of life’s most meaningful moments, we hope Blue Cielo feels like a place where guests can relax, connect and create lasting memories.

Meet the owner
Cassandra wiseman
Cassandra Wiseman, originally from Los Angeles, California, holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Psychology and a master’s degree in Spanish and Education. She dedicated over two decades to the teaching profession, retiring from Woodward Academy in 2023 to chase her dream of becoming a business owner.
In addition to her professional achievements, Cassandra possesses a deep affection for dogs, running, traveling, hosting, the beach, and savoring fine wines. She shares her life with her husband and two sons, Ryan and Colin.
Today, as the proprietor of Blue Cielo Farms, she continues to embrace the splendor of life and craft enduring memories with her loved ones. Cassandra’s journey serves as a testament to the pursuit of one’s passions and the happiness of family life.
