Uncover the Story Behind

Blue Cielo Farms, a cherished family-owned winery in Georgia, boasts vineyards in both Elberton and Commerce. The Elberton location, originally founded by the late Dale Lyman as Lake Russell Vineyards in 2012, was acquired by the Wiseman family in 2022 and proudly reopened as Blue Cielo Farms in February 2023, honoring Dale’s vision and becoming a part of Elbert County’s heritage.

Nestled on 33-acres of a peninsula along the picturesque Richard B. Russell Lake in Elbert County, Georgia, our vineyard is conveniently located just 40 miles from Athens, GA, 21 miles from Anderson, SC, and 48 miles from Greenville, SC.   Spanning approximately 4 acres, our vineyard features a variety of grape varietals including Norton, Lenoir, Blanc du Bois, Chambourcin, and Crimson Cabernet.

In addition to our Elberton location, Blue Cielo Farms – Commerce, established in 2012, offers a unique vineyard experience with approximately 3 acres of Villard Blanc, Carlos, Norton, Lomanto, Chardonel, and Lenoir vines. Our venue is set to open its doors in 2024, providing an immersive experience in the heart of our 185-acre certified tree farm, recognized by the American Tree Farm System for our steadfast commitment to forestry and conservation management best practices.

We are genuinely thrilled and deeply appreciative of the opportunity to steward Elbert and Jackson County’s first Farm Wineries, nurturing a legacy of fine wines and environmental responsibility.
